Well, as you can see (I hope), I'm still playing with Blogger Beta.
Any and all feedback is welcome. If something does not look or function correctly, please let me know either in the comments, or by email at jadeblackwater [at] brainripples [dot] com.
What do you think of the custom header image? I'm still trying to perfect that one, but this was my first attempt at it. Once I figure out how, I'll be sure to make the header image link back to the front page just like the old header did.
As for our tree image today, I have not yet confirmed its identity. Perhaps we have a buckthorn? Suggestions welcome!
Oooo... I just LOVE that smooth instant-publishing!

I'd love to see your images appear in the RSS feed. Not sure why they don't.
ReplyDeleteEverything looks good, and I love your new header! It links back to the main page of Arboreality. Isn't that where you want it to go?
ReplyDeleteKelly, I'm still learning about feeds, but I'll see what I can find out about the images. I know that some syndication tools DO import the images, but I'll do some more research and see what I can learn.
ReplyDeleteMichelle, thanks! Yes, the header image links to the main page now, as I wanted - but it took me a couple hours to figure out how to do it! :)
Becky, I may be able to help you if you like. I'm a total amateur though - just to warn you! :)
ReplyDeleteI don't have photoshop - I used my digital camera for the image, and Microsoft Paint to crop it and put in the words (so high-tech, I know!).
I used these two discussions over at Blogger Help Group to help me figure out how to put it in the code and make it link to the front page:
Custom Header
Can I make my header image a link?
If you still need help, I would definitely recommend that you search the help group and/or asking questions - they know WAY more than I do! However, if I can be of help in any way, just ask - I'll do my best.
Have fun!

I think I've figured out that Blogger users who use Blogger image hosting don't have images showing in their feeds.
ReplyDeleteBlogger users who use something else, like Flickr, to display their images don't seem to have that issue.
Therefore, either Blogger itself doesn't allow those images to appear in the feed, or there's something you can change to make it happen.
Kelly, thanks for the info! I hadn't thought of that... I'll have to see if there is something I can change to make that work. If not, perhaps I need to consider a different option for my images. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for the update!
Hey! You did it! I can see the images from your latest post in my RSS reader (Bloglines).
