As Duchess says... "Snow-Quiet"
This image looks up through the branches of the tree shown on Sunday’s post in the second-to-the-bottom-image that folks liked… I took this picture last week when temperatures were in the sixties and Winter looked like she was a goner.
I thought for sure that I was going to get the shaft on the east-coast-snow this year, but I am so pleased to have been wrong! Today the snow has melted considerably, but there is still a good layer of snow across the ground, 6-inches deep or more in some places!
I feel as though the trees and I are all holding our breath. We’re ready for that Spring rush to hit us, and we sense that it’s coming… but for now, we’re happily sucking away the last sweetness of Winter under the quiet cover of snow.
Your photos are improving by leaps and bounds. Many of them speaks louder than words.I like them
ReplyDeleteThank you tahrman, you are too kind. :) I'm so pleased that you enjoy them!
ReplyDeletePrecisely FrankenGirl - I couldn't agree with you more. Trees have always been dear, dear friends to me.
ReplyDeleteThat is so beautiful. It makes me think of stretching up, up, up into the light-- but all those twists and turns and knobby bits representing all the diversions along the way. I wish I were as thick skinned as that tree.
ReplyDeleteIt just makes me purr to think of your snow and the stillness. Here it smells like cold wet earth, the sun is piercing down, and the chimes are making themselves known. You can practically feel the grass buzzing back to life. I don't know which I'd rather be out in more!
I totally agree Ann... I have such a hankering to start gardening, but I think that another snow and/or frost is still possible (and welcome in my mind). On the other hand, that may have been winter's last laugh for the year. :)
ReplyDeleteJe vous souhaite un très bon week-end et de bonnes photos.

What a beautiful, surreal picture, and the line that the trees are holding our breathe is perfect.
ReplyDeleteGreat picture, it just reminds me of my stay in Chicago
ReplyDeleteBon-weekend Manu!
ReplyDeleteBarbara, I'm glad that you're enjoying the trees! In the coming weeks I hope to capture some of spring's unfolding for everyone.
Karen, thank you for your thoughts. I'm new to the east coast, transplanted from around Seattle, Washington. We occasionally get big snows around Seattle, but nothing like the big ones that come through here each year. I'm with you - I'm ALL for a second snow storm! Winter isn't over yet - I even saw flurries this morning. :)
Aarya, thank you! I can't wait for a chance to visit Chicago!
