Scilla Shows Signs of Spring

Scilla flowers (), brought to my gardens from Europe by the owner’s mother many years ago.

  1. Beautiful flowers indeed. I hadn't actually seen this flower before (apparently it's also called a squill), but my natural attraction to it was quickly explained when I discovered it was from the same family as one of my all-time favourites, the hyacinth.

  2. Rurality, I agree! The color really is that vibrant in real life - they're incredible.

Pollen Nation, aren't they lovely? My friend's mother brought them with her from England, and now they grow in wide swaths in patches around the farm. I'm planning to conveniently relocate some to my garden tomorrow. :) Thanks for the tip on the alternative name too!

  3. I read this at first as "Scalia shows signs of spring."

I've got to get my head out of the caselaw.
