The silo and her trees

I’m not certain just why I love this silo so much. When I finally get out my watercolors, pencils, and charcoals, I think that the silo and her tree-neighbors will be among my first subjects.

Have a great weekend, everyone!

  1. I'm afraid not... at least, I haven't been brave enough to try. It's rather tall - I don't know if I could estimate, but it's way up there... and I haven't located any sort of latter/step system yet. Even if I did, I might be a bit wary to try it. :) Not to sure about the structural integrity :)

But imagine all the cool things I could see from way up there! That would be so fun!

  2. Thank you for your thoughts JB, and for that lovely Lubbock quote! It's truly my pleasure to have the opportunity to share my discoveries with others.

I'd be lost without the trees and plants and stones and wildlife... they keep me sane. :) Well... semi-sane! heeheehee

  5. It's so solid, it doesn't even loo like a tree.

  6. Hi Ducklover, maybe I should clarify... you're right... the big solid thing is actually a stone silo. A silo is something you often see on farms. They are tall and cylindrical, and usually are used to store grain. This one is very old, and no longer in use. In the picture for this entry, I'm standing at the base of the silo, looking up! It's pretty cool, huh?

Here is a link to another image in the blog where you can see the silo from a distance and get an idea of what it looks like. You can also see the tree next to it whose branches cross the sky in this entry.
