Happy Birthday Arboreality!
I will donate the full amount of the total number of comments, rounded up to the nearest five, in addition to the base $15.00 donation, to the American Forests’ Global ReLeaf International program.
If you would like to make your own donation, or donate in someone’s name, I recommend you check out the many ways to plant trees with American Forests. I have given these donations as birthday presents, Christmas presents, and more - recipients get a nifty certificate to boot! This makes an ecologically-friendly way to give a gift to a friend and to the Earth.
Alright now Arborealists – speak out, and spread the word! Tell us why you love trees and forests, tell us about your favorite posts at Arboreality, or just say howdy!
Happy, happy birthday. I love your blog. GOod luck with the tree $$$ collection!

Congrats on the birthday!
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday!!
ReplyDeleteHmmm....why I love trees....there are the obvious reasons: they provide shade in the summer, protection from winds in the winter, oxygen of course. There is much more, though.
I've always loved walking and hiking in forests. For several years, a friend and I met monthly (sunny, rainy, snowy...it didn't matter) and spent a lovely Saturday morning walking the trails at Beaver Lake Nature Center. There's something about spending time in even a little forest like that (600 acres) that is very grounding and centering, and makes you feel very connected to the environment....you sense how important it is to you, and how important you are to it (if that makes sense....it's difficult to verbalize. :-) ).
Anyway...my husband loves trees, too. When we were house-hunting, any house that had a yard without trees was immediately dropped from the list!
Thanks everybody!
ReplyDeleteWell let me congratulate Aboreality on his (her?) birthday.
ReplyDeleteYou have really done a great service by creating this site, and informing us all about trees.
And the donation is so classy and wonderful.
Three cheers to you!!
Happy anniversary. I never thought I would reach my first year.
ReplyDeleteTrees and forests have always been a part of my life, and I knew which one was the right woman for me, because she loved being in the forest as well.
Happy Birthday, and what a great idea about the donation. Your photographs of the trees are gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteThank you everyone!
ReplyDeleteYour presence at Arboreality is what makes this place fun!
You rock, jlb! You've been one of my favorites since we found each other. Where else can I find someone who gets as excited about trilliums as I do?
ReplyDeleteThanks Trailhead - ditto.
