Chasing the Sunrise

This morning we awoke to a dusting of snow flurries, and a clear crisp sunrise heralded by none other than Venus, the morning star herself.

I dashed out with my camera to try and get a few images for you while the rising sunlight still shone pink and gold on the trees. It's wonderful to watch the changing contrasts as the sun first touches the upper most branches, and works its way down the trunks.

Wouldn’t it be lovely to be able to dip your paintbrush in the sunlight, and paint with sunrise-pink?

  1. My secret is out! Ok, it's not a secret... I'm a hopeless poet... I think my love of poetry is starting to soak through into the blogging sheets. :)

I'm glad you dig the photos... you totally picked my favorite tree out of the bunch! I don't know what species it is yet - but I think it's some sort of chestnut, and it has so much character!

  2. i like the 1st pic because it shows a mysterious path, as if foreboding.

  3. I like that one too - especially, as you mentioned, the suggestion of mystery down the path.

These trails are so much fun... they wind all around through the hedges, and when I follow one of them I always end up in the strangest of places!

The lines "Wouldn’t it be lovely to be able to dip your paintbrush in the sunlight, and paint with sunrise-pink?"
It sure soaks in to my heart

  6. Crystal, thanks! We've had some clear, cold days around here!

Tahrman, I'm glad that you're enjoying the pictures. It was a fun way to start my day looking for where the light from the sunrise would hit next.

Frankengirl, I couldn't agree more. In fact, when I attended Evergreen I worked on a year-long project about poetry and trees! I even wrote a popular article derrived from my research and sent it out to a magazine... it was declined, but I'd still like to revise it and try to submit it again! Thank you for visiting, as always. :)
